Digital Medicinal Plant Garden Inaugurated at Dr. Rajendra Gode College of Pharmacy, Malkapur

Dr. Rajendra Gode College of Pharmacy, Malkapur marked a significant academic milestone with the inauguration of the Digital Medicinal Plant Garden by Hon. MLA Chainsukhji Sancheti (Malkapur Assembly) and IBSS President Shri Yogendraji Gode Sir. The initiative reflects the institute’s commitment to experiential learning, innovation, and digital integration in pharmaceutical education.
The garden has been thoughtfully developed by Prof. Vikas Ghait, Department of Pharmacognosy. Active participation of B. Pharm and D. Pharm students played a key role, with students collecting and compiling detailed plant information under the guidance and support of Prof. Karan Gayakwad and Prof. Vikas Ghait. Dedicated efforts in garden maintenance, including branch cutting, weeding, cleaning and overall upkeep, were carried out meticulously by garden caretaker ShriKrishna Kinge.
The project was successfully completed under the visionary management and inspiration of Hon. President Shri Yogendraji Gode Sir and Secretary Miss Tanvi Gode Ma’am, with guidance from Principal Dr. P. K. Deshmukh and Academic Dean Dr. V. S. Adhao. The wholehearted support of teaching and non-teaching staff contributed to the timely completion of the garden. The initiative aligns with the national vision of Digital India and Viksit Bharat 2047, promoting technology-driven learning and sustainable knowledge dissemination.
The Digital Medicinal Plant Garden houses more than 85 medicinal plant species of diverse varieties. Each plant is equipped with a unique QR code, which upon scanning provides comprehensive digital information such as plant name, biological source, medicinal uses, and marketed preparations.
